On the Warpath: Syrian Troops Push Deeper Into Daesh Terrirory Along Aleppo-Raqqa Highway



  Backed by Russian air strikes, the Syrian forces have regained control of a considerable part of the strategic Aleppo-Raqqa highway from Daesh militants in northern Syria, according to the Iranian news agency FARS. 

On Tuesday, the government troops stormed Daesh positions along the Aleppo-Raqqa highway, forcing the terrorists to retreat and suffer large casualties in the fighting, sources said.

Advanced Russian Fighters Arrive in Syria to Escort Bombing Raids

Following last week’s Turkish military shoot-down of a Su-24 Russian bomber over Syrian airspace, Russia announced its intention to begin providing fighter escorts to their future bombing runs in the area to avoid future incidents.
Advanced Russian Su-34 fighter jets, armed with air-to-air missiles, arrived in Syria to take part in the escort missions, which Russian Air Force officials described as “self-defense” operations.
With the Russian air war exclusively targeting terrorist groups with no planes of their own, the planes are clearly meant more or less exclusively as a response to Turkey’s shootdown, and to dissuade Turkish F-16s from taking any more shots at their planes, reflecting how serious tensions remain along that frontier.
Russia has also deployed air defense systems in northwestern Syria since the incident. Turkish officials have insisted they will not apologize for shooting down the Russian plane, and angrily condemned Russia for imposing economic sanctions on them over the attack.

A high-ranking officer within the joint operation room in Damascus (consisting of Russia, Iran, Syria and Hezbollah) said “Damascus received sets of S -300 advanced Russian missiles, ready to enter active service. Soon, Syria will announce that any country using the airspace without coordinating with Damascus will be viewed as hostile and will shoot the jet (s) without warning. Those willing to fight terrorism and coordinate with the military leadership will be granted safe corridors”.
In another development, according to the same source, “Iran is preparing two squadrons of Sukhoi to engage the war in Syria. These will be stationed at the T4 Syrian military airport in Homs, very close to Palmyra (Tadmur), previously known as Tiyas. The Iranian Air Force will join the Russian Air Force in their war against extremist terrorist Kafeeree in Syria”.

Navodno će neke S-300 baterije biti predane SAA
koja će onda objaviti da će obarati sve zrakoplove koji se
usaglase sa Damaskom.
   Osim toga Iran bi poslao 2 eskadre Suhoja koje
bi stacionirali na aerodromu kod Homsa.

Senior Terrorist Commander Killed in Hama

The Syrian army killed at least 14 terrorists, including a senior commander, in military operations in Hama province, where it has expanded the combat zone and lines of engagement.
The army destroyed positions of the so-called "al-Izza Battalions and Brigades Coalition" in Al-Lataminah town to the North of Hama city.
At least 14 terrorists were killed during the attack.
Mohamed Ali al-Raadoun, a ringleader of a terrorist group, was identified among the dead.
The army also destroyed four vehicles in the operation.
Also on Wednesday, the Russian warplanes conducted 5 air raids on ISIL training camp on Bil'as Mountain East of Hama, killing at least 15 Takfiri militants.
Six vehicles of the terrorists were also destroyed.
The Syrian army and the National Defense Forces also killed and wounded a group of Jeish al-Fateh members as they stormed the terrorists' positions near Morek in Hama province on Wednesday.
Militants' tank and weapons were also seized by the Syrian forces.

"At least 1,722 fuel trucks along roadside parking areas have been discovered using equipment from the [Russian] space reconnaissance. It should be noted that since the beginning of airstrikes by Russian airplanes against facilities of the oil infrastructure in the hands of ISIL, the number of fuel trucks at parking areas has considerably decreased," Sergei Rudskoy said during a briefing.

Today in Arab independent media and social networks appeared information about international coalition’s airstrike on gas/oilbearing field Al-Amr in Deir ez-Zor governorate.
A photo of burning oil- and gas infrastructure object is being spread, it has also been reported about high voltage power line damage.
There was no official media announcements following that social networks activity but at about 14:30 (Moscow time) oppositional Syrian media [url=http://stepagency-sy.net; https://twitter.com/Step_Agency]«Information agency Step News Agency»[/url] posted a tweet saying that from the side of al-Amr oil field to the east of Deir ez-Zor plumes of smoke could be seen billowing into the sky as a result of Russian airstrike. New photo of smoke plumes was published later.
It has been reported before that this object was hit by French airborne but the strikes were not quite efficient.
This area has been previously bombed by American war planes.
