A military meeting was held in the capital Damascus to discuss a possible operation to lift of the ISIS siege of Deir Ezzor through the capture of the strategic Palmyra-Deir Ezzor highway.
Representatives of the Russian military, high-ranking commanders of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA), leaders of the newly-formed 5th Storming Corps heads of tribes native to Deir Ezzor (like Fares Dagheem, Asa’ad al-Issa, Daham al-Jarad, and Mohammad Saleh) were involved.
The discussion focused on the possibility of launching a military operation in the nearest time to recapture the Palmyra-Deir Ezzor highway and to lift the siege off the embattled city that is now in a dire condition.
It was suggested to launch a volunteer campaign to recruit the sons of Deir Ezzor from camps for internally displaced persons, tribal youth, and retired veterans to the 5th Storming Corps and pro-government tribal forces deployed in Palmyra and its countryside.
It is expected that Russia will support such this campaign financially. Moscow has been already dooing for some time providing a variety of weapons and equipment including the T-62m tanks to local tribal forces involved into the battle against ISIS.

This offensive is expected to have three phases:

[*]The second phase will focus on capturing the town of Kobajjeb. The liberation of this town will require that the capture of 70 km of a roadway and mountain chains east of Sakhnah.
[*]The third and last phase will be a 50 km march to SAA positions in the Deir Ezzor Airbase and inside the city.

As soon as these goals are achieved, the SAA will launch a second operation to secure the entirety of Deir Ezzor’s provincial capital. The aforementioned operation is expected to be launched at the end of 2017 in light of the unwavering series of losses of the ISIS terrorist group in Syria and Iraq. The SAA should not take more than a few months to accomplish the three phases of the operation that will entail ISIS’s banishment from the Syrian desert.[/size]

The al-Qaeda-linked Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) terrorist group resumed its attack on the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in the Manshieh district of the Syrian city of Dara’a with no gains whatsoever.

The SAA was able to fully repel HTS’s assault destroying a tank and killing its crewmen one of whom identified as Abdullah Al-Ordoni, the commander of HTS’s tank battalion in southern Syria.
The Syrian Army then continued to target HTS movements around the provincial capital and inside. According to pro-government sources, HTS lost scores of militants in Dara’a’s al-Balad district. The terrorist group’s fortifications were destroyed in the neighboring Ibta’ village and a HTS command center was destroyed in Al-Bihar district.
From its side HTS reported that the group had targeted an SAA HQ inside the embattled Manshieh district.

danas u siriji i juce festa naveliko po hami i alepu, u zapadnom alepu kozojebi krenuli u ofenzivu, dobili po nosu i onda republikanska garad udarila kontru te im probila linije, borbe jos u tijeku i jos se ne zna hoce li biti ujedno i pocetak ofenzive prema idlibum naime alepo j e krcat vojskom koja ce jos malo pocet radit pizdarije ako ne budu isli u napad,
istocni alepo je malo u zatisju, tigrove jedinice laganini rezu kroz isilove linije i opkoljavaju jirah aviobazu,

Iraqi Kurdistan to Hold Referendum on Independence from Iraq

According to Barzani, “the referendum, which is the highest form of democracy, will be held in Iraqi Kurdistan in the near future.”
Barzani noted that the international community should get to know about the Kurdish people’s opinion.
Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi commented on these statements. According to al-Abadi, “separation of Kurdistan from Iraq does not meet the interests of Kurds.”

About 7 million ethnic Kurds live in Iraq, while the country’s total population is around 36 million people. Since 2005, Iraqi Kurdistan has the status of an autonomous region within Iraq. It is quite probably that if Iraqi Kurds vote for the independence, Turkish Kurds, whose number is about 17 million without taking into account Kurdish refugees from neighboring Syria, will try to use the precedent.“Not only Iraq, but also Turkey and Syria, where a large number of Kurds live, oppose the aspiration of Erbil [the administrative center of Iraqi Kurdistan] to its sovereignty,” the Iraqi Prime Minister said.

Rat u Siriji ima karakteristike građanskog rata. Dakle, imate slučajeve gdje se jedan dio obitelji bori na strani oporbe, a drugi na strani vladinih snaga. I oni održavaju odnose i komuniciraju. Proglašen je i Dan mira, kada oporba može prijeći na stranu svojih rođaka.
Općenito, rat u Siriji je nevjerojatna pojava. Imate ratne tenkove T-55 stare 50 godina, puške AK-47, minobacače i topove iz 1940. A onda vidite moderne zrakoplove, bespilotne letjelice i borce koji za ciljanje koriste satelitske komunikacijske sustave.

Tabqa, a city located at the southern bank of the Euphrates River, is effectively completely cutoff the provincial capital of Raqqa, considered the Islamic State capital.
SDF fighters otherwise captured sections of As-Safsafah days ago but were forced to retreat due to an Islamic State counter-offensive. However, Kurdish forces have now established full control over the imperative town, located directly east of Tabqa.
Some 30 ISIS insurgents were killed during the clashes, a source told Al-Masdar News.
A video also emerged from the region hours ago, showing an ISIS suicide bomber detonating his suicide belt meters from SDF troops.

Rusia dispatches forces to defend key Christian city in Syria
DAMASCUS, SYRIA (11:50 P.M.) – Russia’s Military Police troops were reportedly deployed to the Christian city of Mahardah in northern Hama countryside amid increasing threats of a massive attack by jihadi groups in the region.
Maharda, located 25 km to the north of Hama, has come under a swelling risk of being swept by jihadi rebels in nearby villages and towns following the recent battles in northern Hama.
Reports came in that unknown numbers of the Russian Military Police have entered Mahardah, accompanied by snipers who were deployed to the eastern outskirts of the city.
