A new Russian warship reportedly fitted with a vomit-inducing ray was shadowed by the Royal Navy as it sailed close to the UK's territorial waters. 
The Royal Navy scrambled a warship, HMS Defender, to follow a Russian naval task group, including the missile frigate Admiral Gorshkov. 
HMS Defender intercepted the Russian vessels in waters north east of Scotland and escorted them as they passed the UK coastline and sailed through the English Channel.
The Admiral Gorshkov, which is on its maiden mission, is alleged to have been fitted with the Filin 5P-42 visual optical interference weapon which can blind enemies and cause nausea, feelings of disorientation and hallucinations.

It is said the "non-lethal" weapon fires strobe-like beams to disrupt the enemy's vision and prevent an attack, and is part of an arsenal that includes guided Kalibr missiles.
The SNP , meanwhile, claimed the UK's Ministry of Defence was "failing Scotland" by allowing Russia to conduct "provocative drills" off the country's coastline. 
Russia's Ministry of Defence said the Admiral Gorshkov - named after Soviet Navy Admiral Sergey Gorshkov - is sailing with the supply ship Elbrus, the rescue tug Nikolay Chiker and the tanker Kama.
The Admiral Gorshkov entered service last year and is expected to join Russia's fleet of ships in the Mediterranean.

Russia said the Atlantic-bound vessels, parts of Vladimir Putin's northern fleet, left their port in Severomorsk on February 26 to conduct military exercises, including searches for submarines and air defence drills off the coast of Scotland in the North Sea.
It claimed the convoy was monitored by Nato flyovers and a Swedish military reconnaissance plane near Scotland.
HMS Defender, a Type 45 destroyer equipped with a Sea Viper missile system, was scrambled over the weekend to keep watch on the Admiral Gorshkov and three auxiliary ships.
The British warship left Newcastle on Saturday to head northeast of Scotland to meet the Russian task group in time for the ships to pass the UK coastline on Tuesday.


The Admiral Gorshkov is making its maiden voyage
The shipping tracker app Marine Traffic showed two of the Russian naval support vessels stopping in the Moray Firth in northeast Scotland on Monday, the Daily Record reported. 
Russian media claimed one of the ships conducted “air defence and counter-sabotage exercises” inside UK waters close to RAF Lossiemouth, the report added.
A Navy spokesman said: "Portsmouth-based Defender is monitoring the Russian task group and keeping track of their activity in areas of national interest."
Armed forces minister Mark Lancaster said: "The Royal Navy is always standing ready to defend the UK.

"We will continue to work with our allies to shadow Russian ships passing through international waters close to our shores, to ensure the Russian navy follows the correct protocol on its journey."
Commander Richard Hewitt, the commanding officer of HMS Defender, said: "The security of the seas around our coastline remains crucial to our national interests.
"Escorting the Admiral Gorshkov has demonstrated the Royal Navy's enduring commitment to protecting our home waters and readiness to undertake such tasking whenever it's required."
Stewart McDonald, the SNP defence spokesman, said: “The UK’s Ministry of Defence is failing Scotland, allowing Russian navy vessels sailing through our territorial waters at will to conduct provocative drills like this.

“Sightings of this new class of Russian navy vessel also underline why years of treating Russian threats as a joke are over."
“It is unacceptable that it takes over 24 hours for the Royal Navy to respond to threats in Scottish waters from bases on the south coast of England.
Zvezda, a TV network operated by Russia's Ministry of Defence, said the convoy has covered more than 1,600 nautical miles on the Admiral Gorshkov's first voyage in distant waters.
Russia's state-owned Tass news agency said the ships are "performing long-distance voyage missions in various parts of the World Ocean" in an attempt "to demonstrate the Russian Navy’s flag and provide for naval presence in operational areas of the long-distance oceanic zone".
The Filin 5P-42 has also been installed on Russia's Admiral Kasatonov frigate.

Pa nova varijanta ima 56 VLS cijevi umjesto 48 osnovnog modela... de facto su kao korveta jači od Kineskih Tip-052D razarača sa 64 VLS cijevi no slabijim projektilima i PZO.

The 5P-42 Filin (eagle owl),^[1] is a Russian electro-optic countermeasure system developed by Roselectronics for the Russian Armed Forces. The system is designed to disrupt enemy's combatants eyesight at night and preventing them from targeting a protected platform. Besides that, it is also capable to suppress night vision devices, laser rangefinders, anti-tank missile and other electro-optical sight systems.^[2][3] It was first unveiled in December 2018,^[4] and its naval version is currently being deployed at the Admiral Gorshkov-class frigates.

Russian Navy Ship Maneuvers Unsafe, Unprofessional

At approximately 11:45 am on June 7, 2019 while operating in the Philippine Sea, a Russian Destroyer (UDALOY I DD 572) made an unsafe maneuver against USS Chancellorsville (CG-62), closing to ~50-100 feet putting the safety of her crew and ship at risk. While Chancellorsville was recovering its helicopter on a steady course and speed when the Russian ship DD572 maneuvered from behind and to the right of Chancellorsville accelerated and closed to an unsafe distance of ~50-100 feet. This unsafe action forced Chancellorsville to execute all engines back full and to maneuver to avoid collision. ma sve je to trening, u biti se ekipa zajebava. a dobro dođe i jednima i drugima. ionako su cijelo vrijeme u kontaktu. u biti se najave pa svi dignu uzbunu na crveni nivo i malo vježbaju u realnom okruženju, kasnije dogovore pivo.

no novinari više ne znaju kaj bi pisali pa bulazne okolo.

meni je gliser moga dohvatiti 45knots, a oi razarači mogu do 60.

ekipa se zajebava i troši novac poreznih obveznika.

nakon "sukoba" se sparkaju na pučini, razmjene mjice i kape, malo se podnapiju i dogovore "sudar" u slijedeći četvrtak
