Russia is interested in increasing imports of Peruvian fish, marine products and fruit in the face of the ongoing sanctions war with the West, Vladimir Putin said after talks with Peru’s president, Ollanta Humala.
“I would like to note that additional opportunities are opening up for deliveries of fish, marine products and fruit from Peru,” the Russian President said after talks at his Novo Ogaryovo residence outside Moscow.
Humala said that “new dynamics” should be added to trade relations between the countries, confirming Peru’s readiness to supply food products to Russia.
“We should ease the access of these products. We should unite efforts to understand how to facilitate bureaucratic procedures in Russia and Peru so that not to hurt consumers and manufacturers," the Peruvian leader is cited by TASS news agency.
The Russian president expressed hope that “it would be possible in principle to double reciprocal trade in the years to come” as bilateral trade volumes between Russia and Peru have increased 2.5 times over the past five years.
In August, Russia imposed a year-long ban on food imports from the EU and US, following several waves of Western sanction against Moscow over its alleged involvement in the turmoil in Ukraine.
President Putin also expressed eagerness to assist the Latin American state in developing its nuclear sector and other energy projects.
"We are also ready to offer our experience and state-of-the-art technologies in the implementation of Peru's nuclear sector, nuclear science and medicine development plans," he said.
Such big Russian companies like Russia’s Power Machines and Inter RAO have shown interest in working in the Peruvian energy market, the head of the Russian state stressed.

Moscow and Lima are also working out a possibility of joint use of Russia’s space-based satellite navigation system, GLONASS.
The two states also see serious prospects for cooperation in telecommunications and outer space exploration, Putin said.
"The first Peruvian micro-satellite was put into orbit in August with the participation of Russian specialists," the Russian president said, adding that two more spacecraft are expected to be put into orbit.
Russian companies are also helping Peru to introduce mobile internet communications with the use of 4G broad-band technologies, he added.
Humala said that his current visit to Moscow is a confirmations “of desire of my government and my country to strengthen and develop friendship and cooperation” with Russia.
On Friday, Russia and Peru signed agreements on the environment, tourism, cooperation in tackling illegal drug trafficking and exchange of statistics.
Moscow and Lima are also considering the issue of supplying Russian civil helicopters and jets to Peru, Putin said.
“Russian Helicopters are promoting Mi and Ka class helicopters, while United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) is in talks to deliver civil aircraft to Peru," he explained.
Putin has called Peru “a long-standing and reliable partner” of Moscow, adding that Humala became the first Peruvian president to come to Russia during the 140 year relationship between the countries.

President Vladimir Putin and Chinese leader Xi Jinping have signed a memorandum of understanding on the so-called “western” gas supplies route to China. The agreement paves the way for a contract that would make China the biggest consumer of Russian gas.
Russia’s so-called “western” or "Altay" route would supply 30 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas a year to China.
The new supply line comes in addition to the “eastern” route, through the “Power of Siberia” pipeline, which will annually deliver 38 bcm of gas to China. Work on that pipeline route has already begun after a $400 billion deal was clinched in May.

“After we have launched supplies via the “western route,” the volume of gas deliveries to China can exceed the current volumes of export to Europe,” Gazprom CEO Aleksey Miller told reporters, commenting on the deal.
Speaking to journalists on the eve of his visit to Beijing, Putin was optimistic about prospects for the new gas deal with China.
“We have reached an understanding in principle concerning the opening of the western route,” Putin said.“We have already agreed on many technical and commercial aspects of this project, laying a good basis for reaching final arrangements.”
The “western” route deal is one of the 17 agreements signed at the Sunday meeting between Putin and Xi.
They also included a framework agreement between Gazprom and China’s CNPC on gas deliveries and a memorandum of understanding between Gazprom and another Chinese energy giant, CNOOC.
Gazprom and CNPC have also signed a preliminary agreement for China National Oil and Gas Exploration and Development to take a 10 percent stake in Russia's Vancorneft.
Among the business issues discussed by Putin and Xi at their fifth meeting this year was the possibility of payment in Chinese yuan, including for defense deals military, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov was cited as saying by RIA Novosti.
Brendan P. O'Reilly, China-based writer and educator from Seattle, told RT that transport to China was extremely easy:
"One of the most attractive things about Russian gas for the Chinese is that it can be transported over land," he said. "Most of China’s energy resources are imported via sea through the Pacific, and this route is slightly threatened by the American military presence now in the Pacific. Of course there’re a lot of territorial disputes right now between China, Japan, and various other countries in the East China Sea and the South China Sea. So basically by strengthening energy ties with Russia, China can avoid the more dangerous maritime route."
"Russia stands to benefit from this development with China very much because right now the vast majority of Russian gas is being exported to Europe. So Russian having a second large buyer improves the situation of supply/demand for Russia by creating more demand in the east."

Kavalirski potez predsjednika Putina

Why did the USSR refuse from atomic bullets?
19.11.2014
19.11.2014
The description of atomic bullets can be found in science fiction, but few people know that such munitions were reality in the USSR. One such bullet could melt an armoured tank, while several atomic bullets would destroy a multistory building. Why did the Soviet Union have to cease the production of such powerful ammo?
It turns out that atomic bullets were invented in the USSR at the time when the country was striving for military parity with the US. They were not only created, but even tested. It goes about 14.3 mm and 12.7 mm caliber ammunition for heavy machine guns. Soviet engineers created a bullet of 7.62 mm - not for the Kalashnikov assault rifle, but for its machine gun. The cartridge was the most miniature nuclear weapon in the world.
The structure of atomic bullets is incredibly simple. Californium is used to produce a tiny, dumbbell-shaped piece weighing 5-6 grams. The tiny explosive charge inside the bullet crushes it into a neat ball, which, for a 7.62-mm caliber bullet, has a diameter of 8 mm. The process leads to the appearance of a supercritical state, and a nuclear explosion is guaranteed! To detonate the charge, a contact fuze inside the bullet was used.
