The US State Secretary John Kerry addressed the Turkish government and called to comply with the democratic principles.
As Washington Post reported, John Kerry is concerned about arrests of state officials who are suspected of an attempt to carry out a coup d'etat. After these events, the Turkish authorities don't rule out the possible death penalty.
The US Secretary of State believes that such acts run counter to fundamental principles of democracy. And violation of them questions Turkey's membership in the NATO.
Proposals to exclude Turkey from international organizations or to block access have been stated many a times.
A number of German politicians stood against Turkish membership within the EU. They believe a country where death penalty is applied, cannot be a full part of the European political space.
As Pravda.Ru reported, a group of military made an attempt to seize power. During riots airports in Istanbul and Ankara were blocked. According to the Turkish Foreign Ministry data, 190 citizens of the country and 100 rebels died, 1,400 people got injured. Over 6,000 people are arrested. Almost 9,000 officials and police officers have been dismissed.

Police now say that including the body that has been found, the number of casualties of the attack has risen to nine. Authorities say that one of the bodies - the one found in the street, near the Olympia - may belong to one of the perpetrators. Earlier, on social media there had been speculation that one of the men committed suicide in the aftermath of the attack. - 20:30 GMT

While the identity of the attackers has not been confirmed, Islamic State, as usual, has not been slow in taking credit.
"Thank God, may God bring prosperity to our Islamic State men," said one affiliated account on Twitter.
"The Islamic state is expanding in Europe," claimed another. - 18:52 GMT
Police have now asked motorists to stay off the autobahns leading in and out of Munich, to allow easy passage for emergency and additional police units.
The authorities have also called the unfolding crisis an "acute terrorist situation."

Russian warplanes reportedly bombed a secret military base in Syria used by elite American and British forces last month.
The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday that the Russian strike on the CIA-linked site was part of a campaign by Russia to pressure the White House to agree to closer cooperation in the Syrian skies, U.S. military and intelligence officials said.
Despite the fact that some forces could have been killed and the bombing dampened relations between Russia and the Pentagon and CIA, the White House and State Department still persued a compromise.
The U.S. and Russia agreed to a pact last week to target airstrikes against the Al Qaeda affiliate in the region – Nusra Front – despite objections from the Pentagon and CIA. Russia agreed to stop airstrikes on U.S.-backed rebels and restrain the Syrian air campaign. The two sides are still talking about designations where Russia would need U.S. approval to conduct an airstrike.

According to The Wall Street Journal, deal backers in the White House and State Department believe U.S. airstrikes on the Nusra Front in areas that were previously occupied by Russian forces would provide protection for allies in Syria.
However, officials in the Pentagon and CIA contend that Washington bowed to Moscow in the deal and believe that the U.S. needs to confront Russia.
The Russian strike on the base occurred on June 16. The U.S. and British forces help maintain what is described as a buffer zone in Jordan. Forces go into Syria to help protect Jordan from Islamic State, U.S. officials told The Journal. Forces didn’t spend the night, due to security reasons.
Nearly a day before the strike, 20 of 24 British special forces pulled out of the base. The U.S. tracked a Russian plane heading toward the base. The warplane dropped a cluster bomb, according to U.S. and rebel officials.
After the first strike, U.S. central command air operations center in Qatar called Russia’s air campaign headquarters in Latakia, Syria to tell them that the base shouldn’t be attacked.
However, Russian forces struck again nearly 90 minutes after the call was made. Russian pilots didn’t respond to U.S. calls using frequencies the two sides had previously agreed to use in case of an emergency.
At least four rebels were killed in strikes.
Russian officials initially told the Pentagon that the military thought it was an Islamic State facility, but U.S. officials rejected the notion because of what they described as a unique way the base was fortified, The Journal reported.
Russians then said that the Jordanians had given them the go-ahead to strike the base, but the U.S. double-checked and said no such authorization was given. Later, Russia told the U.S. that their headquarters wasn’t in position to call off the strike because the U.S. didn’t provide them with the proper coordinates of the base.
U.S. officials said that the Pentagon had never asked the Russians to steer clear of that area because it wasn’t close to the front lines and Russian aircraft didn’t operate in that part of Syria anyway.
The strike has increased the distrust between U.S. and American forces in Syria. According to the Wall Street Journal, the U.S. didn’t want to give Russia any more information than they had to.
Since the strike, the U.S. has told Russia to steer clear of the Jordanian border.

Russia's newest S-500 Prometheus mobile air and space defense complex is expected to enter service this year. The Defense Ministry is allegedly planning to order five S-500 complexes capable of intercepting ballistic and hypersonic missiles.
“We are expecting the first models of the S-500 air defense systems very soon,” Russian Aerospace Forces Vice-Commander Lt.-Gen. Viktor Gumenny told the Rossiya-24 TV channel on Friday.

Next gen S-350 mobile mid-range missiles to make Russian air defense impenetrable
The long-range high intercept S-500 complex with extended ballistic missile defense capabilities is planned to enter operational readiness in 2016.
According to member of the advisory council of the Military-Industrial Commission Viktor Murakhovsky, the technical characteristics of the S-500 complex undergoing final tests will be second to none.
Open sources say the S-500 will be capable of simultaneously engaging up to 10 targets traveling at speeds of up to seven kilometers per second, which is an approximate speed of intercontinental ballistic missile nuclear warheads entering the atmosphere. The killing range of the complex is reported to be 600 kilometers, while the altitude of a target engaged could be near 180-200 kilometers.
Russian Aerospace Forces are reportedly planning to purchase five S-500 complexes up to the year 2020. The S-500 complexes are going to be integrated into the A-135 (and successive A-235) Moscow air defense system.

Another complex being readied by Moscow-based Almaz-Antey is the S-350 Vityaz (Knight) medium- and short-range complex that will replace outgoing S-300PS mobile SAMs.
The principal difference between the S-350 Vityaz and the S-300 is the number of missiles: the S-350 launcher vehicle carries 12 missiles, whereas the S-300 has just four. This is due to modern missiles being more powerful, and so they become either smaller or achieve longer ranges with the same size.
The S-350 uses two types of missile, which are smaller, lighter and more maneuverable, doing better at ultra-low and maximum heights and with longer ranges than their predecessors.
The previous state-of-the-art complex, the S-400 Triumph already in service, has a range of 400 kilometers and can simultaneously attack 36 airborne targets with 72 missiles, with a target’s maximum speed of 4.8 kilometers per second.
In March 2015, it was reported that final tests of the exo-atmospheric 40N6 missile system developed for the S-500 complex had been completed successfully. It was also said that the high-intercept 40N6 missile with a reported maximum operational altitude of 180 kilometers could be deployed with previous generation S-300 complexes. This would give the already highly modernized air defense systems near space capabilities.
