1 February 2019 – Four-time Grammy Award-winner Michael Bublé will be performing in Croatia for the first time later this year as part of his big world tour.
Although born in Canada, Buble’s roots are originally from Croatia. The Buble name is mentioned in records in Croatia as far back as the 14th century and it was Michael’s grandfather Mihovil who was originally from Trogir near Split on the Dalmatian coast. Those who know the family says that Michael’s father had a boat named ‘Dalmatia’.
Michael Bublé has never performed in Croatia but will do so for the first time on 16 September 2019 at Arena Zagreb. The concert, organised by Star Production, will be an opportunity for Michael to visit the land of his grandfather, who had a big influence on him getting into music.
Trogir
The Canadian star grew up listening to Mihovil’s old jazz records and it was he who convinced Michael to enter a talent show as a 17-year-old which he won.
The concert in Croatia will be part his big world tour promoting his latest album Love which starts in Florida this month. The album is dedicated to his 5-year-old son, Noah, who had been diagnosed with liver cancer in 2016.
“I am happy that I am coming back on the scene to sing for my fans who along with my family have been a great support these last two and a half years. I think we are all ready to have a great time at my concert in Zagreb,” Michael says.
The first part of the tour sees him play in 27 American cities, including at Madison Square Garden in New York and Staples Centre in Los Angeles.
The European part of the tour starts in Birmingham on 20 May 2019 and will see Buble perform in Zagreb, Ireland, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, Finland, Norway, Denmark, Germany, Bulgaria, Belgium and the Netherlands.
Bublé, who has sold over 75 million records, received his own Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Tickets for the Zagreb are available via Eventim and at their outlets.
