Austrija: Nema nikakvog smisla kupovati 3 puta skuplji američki plin kad je ruski plin sasvim dobar

Russian corporation Gazprom Export and Austria energy company OMV Gas Marketing & Trading GmbH signed an agreement on gas supplies until 2040 on Tuesday, following talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurtz in Vienna.

SOT, Sebastian Kurz, Austrian Chancellor (German): "At the same time we hope that through an intensive dialogue, a progress will be reached in the relations between the European Union and Russia. Especially we hope that there will be progress in eastern Ukraine, so that sanctions can be removed step by step in accordance with the Minsk agreement. This is a scenario that we wish for our continent. And we are firmly convinced that only by cooperating with each other and not by opposing each other will we succeed on our continent. We believe that a win-win situation is better for both sides than a lose-lose situation."

SOT, Vladimir Putin, Russian President (Russian): "[Russia and Austria] confirmed the partnership, the mutually beneficial nature of a Russian-Austrian cooperation. Evidence of this is the solid growth in trade turnover between our countries, last year it increased by 40.5 percent and the growth continues. In the first quarter of this year, trade turnover doubled. Our visit is timed to the 50th anniversary of the signing of the first contract for the supply of natural gas from the Soviet Union to Austria. During these 50 years our country has reliably, stably supplied energy resources to Austrian consumers, while the transit of Russian energy carriers to the markets of other European countries is carried out through the territory of Austria. Thus, it is no exaggeration to say that by joint efforts, Russia and Austria are making a significant contribution to ensuring the energy security of the entire European continent. We are working together to expand cooperation in the energy sphere. Today, our leading energy companies - OMV, Gazprom - have signed an agreement on gas supplies for the period up to 2040. The Nord Stream-2 project is being continued."

SOT, Vladimir Putin, Russian President (Russian): "The Declaration on Partnership for Modernisation, adopted in 2011, is being implemented. Within its framework, 28 joint initiatives amounting to almost three billion euros are being carried out. I will especially highlight such a major infrastructure project as the creation of a wide-gauge railway from Kosice in Slovakia to Vienna."

SOT, Vladimir Putin, Russian President (Russian): "We talked about the situation in Ukraine. I informed the Federal Chancellor about how Russia sees further possibilities for settling the situation in the Donbass. It is characteristic [obvious] that both Russia and Austria are in favour of full and rigorous compliance by all parties to the conflict with Minsk agreements. We discussed the problems of the Syrian crisis. We note the readiness of Austria to join humanitarian actions in support of the population of Syria. I have already spoken many times, and I would like to take this opportunity to say once again - if Europe wants the flow of migrants, including from the region of Syria, from neighbouring countries, to decrease, it is necessary to help people to return to their homes, we need to help them to build a life in their own country."
