Russia’s Supreme Court has banned the Jehovah’s Witnesses, declaring it an “extremist organization” and ordering to hand over its property to the state. The Christian group says it is planning to appeal the decision.

Delivering the verdict on Thursday, Judge Yury Ivanenko ruled that all 395 branches of the religious group on Russian territory are subject to disbandment and the property is to be forfeited to the state.
In the run-up to the ruling on its liquidation, based on a lawsuit filed by the Russian Justice Ministry, the Jehovah’s Witnesses group has repeatedly found itself in trouble with Russia’s anti-extremism legislation. In October last year, a lower court notified the organization of a looming ban if it did not stop engaging in what it considered extremist activity. In January this year, the warning was upheld by the Moscow City Court.
Jehovah's Witnesses leaflets promoting information “posing a threat to health” were provided as evidence by the Ministry of Justice during the hearings, Svetlana Borisova, the ministry’s representative said, as cited by RIA Novosti. More than 90 printed booklets of the organization have been found to contain extremist materials.
One of Jehovah’s Witnesses strict beliefs – a complete ban on blood transfusions – can potentially endanger the life of a child, argued Borisova. She cited a case when devout followers of the group refused to give consent for the procedure needed by their child.
The present lawsuit was revolving around Jehovah’s Witnesses’ chief managing organization in Russia, based in St. Petersburg, which is in charge of all its outfits scattered on the Russian territory.
Next week, the Moscow City Court will examine the legality of the March suspension. The hearing is scheduled on April 24.
Jehovah’s Witnesses, however, deny all the extremism-related accusations, stating that the extremism in question was found in Biblical quotes and alleging that some of the illegal materials were fake evidence planted in their offices.
The group has announced it will contest the ruling in the appellate division of the Russian Supreme Court and is also prepared to appeal to the European Court of Human Rights, if necessary.
“We are greatly disappointed by this development and deeply concerned about how this will affect our religious activity,” Yaroslav Sivulsky, a spokesman for Jehovah's Witnesses in Russia, told Reuters.
On its website, the organization claimed that the nationwide ban on its activity could lead “to grim consequences to the adherents of different denominations as well as for Russia’s international image.”
If the Supreme Court’s decision is upheld by the three-judge appellate panel, Jehovah's Witnesses may face from two up to six years in jail if they defy the court ruling and continue operating in Russia.

Vrhunski. Evo muslimani im opet jutros napravili teroristički napad. Ali neka, zabranimo jehove svjedoke koji mrava nisu zgazili ,a zato uvozimo muslimane koji nas rokaju

U Jekaterinburgu i Novosibrsku vidjelo smo na ulici hare krišne. To je tam valjda sad in, kao nekad u EU. Baš ih je bilo u velikom broju, par stotina.

Sudjenje zavrseno. Putin oduzima centralu Jehovinih Svjedoka u St. Petersburgu kao i sve crkve koje su Svjedoci o svom trosku izgradili po Rusiji. Osim toga, svaki JS koji bude aktivno djelovao ili se privatno sastajao da bi citao Bibliju ili nesto od publikacija WT-a moze biti novcano ili zatvorski kaznjen. SSSR je ozivio. Putin car.

Koliko Putin ima s time ili ne , to je sad pitanje, jer ne vjerujem da se on bas u sve petlja, valjda ima vaznijih problema od JS.
ALi ovo je svakako krsenje religijskih sloboda. Koliko znam, JS mogu biti vrlo dosadni ali ni po cemu nisu opasni.
Pogresno i nije u skladfu sa opcecivilizacijskim normama.

Pa Prince je zglajzal jer ga je Larry Graham nafukal u Jehovince. Od silnih špaga na pozornici mu je puko kuk, a nije smio na operaciju (nema transfuzije) pa je gutao igutao sve i svašta protiv bolova...Eva_ wrote:D, čitam baš u Habarovsku u FSB uletio Mujo.

Muslimani ne daju na sebe..cim ih stisnes,odmah se pocnu pozivati na domace zakone,svoja prava i jebeni Islam..prave buku,kako sve ostale religije ne prave skupa..zato ih ne mos tek tako stisnuti..Dakle sto si bucniji,to te teze ujebati,ali to bi ste vi trebali znati..Samo se meskoljite u oboru,dok vam Vlast strize vec i kozu sa ledja..

The Church has been subjected to considerable pressure from the state in Russia.[59] In April 2007, the European Court of Human Rights ruled against Russia for repeatedly refusing to consider the Moscow Church of Scientology's application for the status of a legally valid religious association. The court found that the reasons given to deny re-registration of the church by the justice department and endorsed by the Moscow courts had no legal basis.[60][61]
In July 2007, the St. Petersburg City Court ordered that the city's Scientology center be closed for violating its charter by engaging in unlicensed health care services.[62]A court in Samara came to a similar decision in November 2008, closing down the activities of the local center for practicing without a license.[63]
In September 2009, the European Court of Human Rights issued a binding ruling in favor of two Scientology branches in Surgut and Nizhnekamsk, which had been denied registration as "religious organizations." The two organizations were awarded €20,000 in costs and damages. The ruling, which cannot be appealed against, said that Russia could not ban the Church of Scientology simply because it did not have a long history in the country.[64]
In 2010 some of the works of L. Ron Hubbard were included into the Federal List of banned extremist materials,[65] but removed on 3 May 2011.[66] Another such attempt was made by prosecutor in mid-2011 but was unsuccessful.[67]

Jedini nacin.,staviti Islam van zakona,a tk ose pobuni,metodom Staljina..no tesko je i pomisliti,jer Putin ima saveznistva u glavesinama Cecenije i slicnih,dakle to otpada..
