In a Washington-style address, the EU president will call for 'more Europe' as multiple crises threaten to tear the continent apart

With its pumping music and ragged cuts, it feels more like the trailer for a disaster movie than the announcement of a political speech.
“This is the last chance commission,” intones Jean-Claude Juncker, in a video promoting his State of the Union speech in Strasbourg on Wednesday: “Either we succeed in bringing Europe closer to EU citizens – or we fail.”
The speech - the fifth delivered by an EU president, and openly modelled on its American namesake - is expected to make an impassioned case for Europe to put aside its national divisions and unite to tackle the mounting crises now confronting the EU.
After 12 months of almost perpetual crisis which threatened the unravelling of the Euro and the end of borderless travel, Mr Juncker is expected to offer a one-word prescription for Europe’s mounting list of ills: "Solidarity”.
With the migrant debate pitting Old Europe against poorer eastern states, Mr Juncker is expected to advocate a radical expansion of his Commission’s power under a plan to force countries to accept a centrally mandated quota of asylum seekers to relieve the pressure on Italy, Greece and Hungary.
According to leaked drafts of the proposals for EU countries to accept 160,000 migrants, countries that refuse to comply will be fined.
Mr Juncker is expected to dismiss opponents of his plan as “populists” that must be overcome by appealing to higher European ideals. And there are plenty of opponents.
Mr Juncker’s more modest proposals, to distribute just 40,000 people, were rejected by national governments earlier in the summer.
Hungary openly rejects the largely Muslim migrants as a threat to Europe’s Christian heritage, while Slovakia has said it will only accept Christians due to "lack of mosques".

Prva nagrada je zlatno govno uz natpis: Prijatno.

Ma može ga Junker pušiti. Češka, Slovačka, Madjarska, Rumunjska,

Poljska....i još par drzava je jasno reklo da ne žele primiti izbjeglice

po nikakvim kvotama. Francuzi takodjer sada odbijaju primati 

muslimanske imigrante. Tko će ih natjerati na to ....Njemačka

Junker i Merkelica. Pa neće niti njena svijetliti do zore.

Island je samovoljno već izgradio džamiju, i sprema se za uvoz 11.000 imigranata, i to ne na inicijativu vlade nego na inicijativu građana i aktivista.

Sve 5. Jendo je dobra volja a sasvim drugo kad je to must koji to drugi nameću.
