On December 29, the Syrian army’s Republican Guard launched a fresh push against Jaish aal-Islam militants in the Eastern Ghouta region near the Syrian capital, Damascus.
The Republican Guard advanced from eastern and northern direction on the key village of Hazrama, seizing farms near this strategic site.
If government forces are able to take control of Hazrama, they will be in a striking distance from another important village – Nashabiyah. The control of Hazrama and Nashabiyah will allow, the Syrian army to control all important roads in the eastern part of the Eastern Ghouta region.
Earlier this week, Jaish al-Islam terrorist group announced that “regime forces” suffered heavy casualties in the region in November. However, statements and the real military situation are quite different things.

The Syrian army and the National Defense Forces (NDF), supported by the Russian Aerospace Forces, have been advancing against ISIS in the city of Deir Ezzor aiming to lift the siege from the Deir Ezzor Airport.
As result of a series of firefights, army and NDF troops seized an important hilltop near the cemetery and seized a notable part of the cemetery itself.
Despite the ISIS resistance, government forces are now close to linking the Deir Ezzor Airprot with the rest of the government-held pocket.  Government troops control important hilltops in the area and have a support from Russian warplanes. This allows to counter the ISIS advantage in the manpower.

The Syrian army and the National Defense Forces (NDF) have repcatured Abu Tawwalah and the nearby housing area from ISIS terrorists southeast of the Tiyas Airbase located west of the ancient Syrian city of Palmyra, according to the Hezbollah media wing in Syria.
Government forces are now advancing on the Jihar junction from which they had recently retreated. The Syrian army and the NDF have to control the nearby cites and hill in order to secure the junction.

Šest ruskih bombardera Tu-22M3 poletelo je sa teritorije Rusije i naneli vazdušne napade po položajima terorističke organizacije ID u provinciji Dejr el Zor u Siriji, saopštilo je rusko Ministarstvo odbrane.

Iraqi Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) stationed in Tal Afar have managed to kill dozens of Islamic State terrorists as they attempted to break out into Syria’s bordering Hasakah province.
Since the outset of the Nineveh operations, the Iraqi Security Forces have managed to liberate eastern Mosul alongside dozens of nearby villages. On the other side of the Tigris river, the PMU took on the formidable task of enclosing Mosul and separating it from Syria.
Within a few weeks, the PMU forces managed to capture hundreds of villages between Qayyarah Airbase and Sinjar flanking the Daesh stronghold of Tal Afar from three directions. So far, all ISIS attempts to break through the imposed belt have failed miserably choking the terrorist group in a massive butcher house.

Notably, the Iraqi high command has just granted the PMU the permission to proceed with the Tal Afar operation following a long halt due to political reasons. The liberation of Tal Afar would be a massive blow to ISIS in Iraq, which now controls less then 10% of the country’s territory.

Syrian and Russian warplanes have delivered high number of airstrikes against ISIS targest in the area located west of the ancient city of Palmyra, according to local sources and media activists.
