“When protesting against and demonising someone at their funeral, screaming at his mourners, well today that was seen by many to be acceptable,” Mr Kenny said.
“Most media accepted it, some even seemed to encourage the protests.
“Police negotiated with the protesters, in other words they protected the church and the mourners, sure, but they facilitated the protesters as well – so all in all, this was a new marker in the progressive political landscape of hatred.”
