Anti-Defamation League Says Only 'White' People Can Be Racist - American Faith


The Anti-Defamation League has been making headlines after their definition of “racism” revealed that they believe only white people can be racist.
QUICK FACTS:
  • The Anti-Defamation league is receiving pushback over their change in definition for the term “racist,” according to Information Liberation.

  • The new definition erases the aspect of universal prejudice and focuses on the oppression of minority groups and addresses what they defined as a system that “privileges white people.”

  • According to the Montgomery Adviser, the ADF has “fallen into partisan decay,” and uses their contracts with schools to assign one group of people “a vile trait based solely on the color of their skin.

  • ADL’s program The No Place For Hate program teaches kids to recognize “hate symbols” such as “It’s Okay to Be White” and “Anti-Antifa images.”


WHAT HAS CHANGED:
  • The previous definition of “racism” on ADL’s website stated that: “Racism is the belief that a particular race is superior or inferior to another, that a person’s social and moral traits are predetermined by his or her inborn biological characteristics. Racial separatism is the belief, most of them based in racism, that different races should remain segregated and apart from another one.”

  • The current definition of “racism” on ADL’s website: “The marginalization and/or oppression of people of color based on a socially constructed racial hierarchy that privileges white people.”

  • Another part of the website defines it as “the disrespect, harm, and mistreatment of people of color based on made-up ideas that white people deserve to be in charge and treated better.”


BACKGROUND:
  • According to ADL’s website, their programs are applied in classrooms where 1.4 million children learn at the hands of 100,000 educators and 1,600 schools.

  • ADL has, on its own, limited traffic to their website, however, according to Information Liberation it is now receiving priority placement on Google when the term “racism” is searched.
