MOSCOW, June 11. /TASS/. Russia has offered Huawei to consider an option of using a Russian software ecosystem at various devices of the Chinese corporation, a source familiar of details of the meeting between Russian Telecom Minister Konstantin Noskov and Deputy Chairman of Huawei Board Guo Ping told TASS on Tuesday.
Further to the domestic Aurora Operating System (OS), social media, search engine and antiviruses were also discussed, according to the source.
"Aurora was not the only item for discussion. An ecosystem of Russian software was offered to Huawei at large: social media, search engine, antiviruses, and so on," the source said.

It appears that Sailfish, the Operating System by Finnish company Jolla, will now power 8 million+ devices for the Russian government. Renamed AuroraOS, at least in Russia, it has the Android compatibility layer stripped away. Last year, Russian company Rostelecom bought three quarters of the open mobile platform that developed Sailfish. Rostelecom is one of the foremost Russian telecommunications companies. It’s also a leading provider of broadband, IPTV, landline subscriptions in Russia. After the production woes of the last few years, it’s nice to see Sailfish finding a footing, even if it is in reduced form and exclusive to Russia.

Commenting in a statement, Pavel Eyges, CEO of OMP said: “We believe that open source based and independent Sailfish OS is the mobile OS platform of the future. It has great potential in Russia and elsewhere. Sailfish OS RUS is based on principles of participation and partnership, and we are actively recruiting partners and developer community members to take the initiative to new heights in Russia.”
Unlike some alternative OSes Sailfish benefits from compatibility with Android applications — giving it a relative leg up on access to apps vs other (faltered) efforts, such as Mozilla’s Firefox OS, although Tizen also has some workarounds for accessing some Android apps.

Nisam čuo za Salifish godinama, mislio sam da je projekt propao sa padom Nokie.

Kupili Rusi za svoje potrebe. Iako sumnjam da će Kinezi prihvatiti ponudu, barem van tržišta Rusije, jer čini mi se kako se žele sami dokazati.

Izvornog koda od čega?

Majmune ne pravi se grbav, kada mi dođe robot koji moram instalirat u uj ima instalirano prvotni kod aktivacija jedinice je pet nula

Evo malo sam ga proguglao, u suštini razvija se na isti način kao nokijin pokojni Simbian, to je očito ista ekipa iza njega.

Sailfish izvodi Android aplikacije u sandboxu... U biti da Microsoft nije kupio Nokiju, i silom nametnuo mobilne Windowse sa čime su uništili firmu, danas bi vjerojatno još uvijek imali pravu Finsku Nokiju (ne ovu Kinesku licencu imena) sa MeeGo kao 3 velikim operativnim sustavom.
